Daylight Magazine

This print and on-line magazine, published by Daylight Community Arts Foundation, is a non-profit showcase for contemporary documentary photography featuring the work of established and emerging artists, scholars and journalists.

Founded by Michael lItkoff and Taj Forer as winners of a Howard Chapnick Grant for developing leadership in photojournalism, the website features documentary work from around the world, news from the profession and listings of grants and scholarships.

By re-imagining the documentary mode through collaboration with established and emerging artists, scholars and journalists, Daylight has become one of the premier showcases for contemporary photography.

Also, the Daylight Daily Blog lists opportunities for photographers as well as exhibition/book reviews and compelling art criticism from around the globe.

In addition, DCAF seeks to help underrepresented communities share their stories by distributing cameras, establishing darkroom and digital imaging facilities, administering photographic workshops, and curating local and traveling exhibitions. Ultimately, DCAF’s goal is to provide these communities with access to the resources and equipment necessary to participate in the global visual dialogue.
