Centriphone – An iPhone Video Experiment (VIDEO)

The “bullet time” effect in video can make for a very interesting visual, just ask Keanu Reeves in The Matrix when he dodges a speeding bullet. Usually this visual technique requires several cameras to stitch together a seamless rotating shot, but Nicolas Vuignier achieved a similar shot with the use of far less equipment, in fact, almost no equipment at all.

In what Vuignier calls, “Centriphone,” he swings an iPhone 6 camera around him on a long rope and creates a centripetal, visually-stunning shot. It took Vuignier two years of tinkering and tweaking before he finally achieved the result he was looking for.

And, per Vuignier, no iPhones were harmed in the making of this video.
