Summit Workshops now offers Private Workshop Experiences. Your family or group of friends can have the full Summit experience with just your group, an instructor, and a trip leader. That means the world is at your fingertips! Any particular species or locale you’ve been dreaming of is just a phone call away. The Summit Team will plan all the details and you can just show up and have an idyllic experience.
But we know saying “you can go anywhere” can be overwhelming – with so many incredible places out there, how are you to choose?! So to help spark some inspiration, we’ve put together a list of places we on the Summit Team have been dreaming of. All of these workshops provide ample opportunities to photograph landscapes, cultures, travel, and potentially wildlife and adventure. You will be led by one of Summit’s world-class faculty who will offer in the field photography guidance, image critiques, and storytelling expertises.
Mongolia
Mongolia is a breathtaking landscape in Asia known for its vast wilderness. The Summit Private Workshop itinerary includes many stops along the Mongolian countryside to take in the landscape and culture. From visiting monasteries to hiking the wilderness to spending time with a local settlement of reindeer herders – you’ll be glad this is a photo workshop so you can document your memories!
Patagonia
Travel to the End of the Earth and experience the famous mountains and rugged wilderness of Patagonia. Explore Torres del Paine, experience the Perito Moreno Glacier, and hike Los Glaciares National Park. This location has become a famous adventure destination for a reason – you will take stunning hikes, boat rides, and guided treks through glaciers. You will be able to photograph penguins and any other wildlife we encounter!
Galapagos
Maybe it’s because we’re in winter, but we on the Summit Team can’t stop dreaming about photographing sunny Galapagos! What’s better than enjoying the warmth and sunshine while photographing an incredibly biodiverse location?! This trip includes a wildlife boat excursion to view breeding white-tip reef sharks, marine iguanas, blue-footed boobies, rays, and penguins; a walk around the rim of the largest volcanic crater in the archipelago; and guided walks to photograph birds and other wildlife!
Sedona & the Grand Canyon
This domestic trip offers fun outdoor excursions and magical views to photograph. Venture among the sandstone formations of Sedona, passing iconic sites like Courthouse Butte and Bell Rock while learning the native and indigenous history of the region. Find out why the Grand Canyon is considered one of the natural wonders of the world during a series of hikes along its Southern Rim that reveal the best views the landscape has to offer. This trip is heavily focused on hiking and will offer great chances to photograph adventure, travel, and landscapes within an area full of geological and spiritual significance.
