Student Testimonials

I wasn't sure what to expect as this was my first workshop. It exceeded my expectations! The instructors were top-notch, engaged and eager to help in any way. The presentations were informative. The sporting events were varied and interesting and the critiques were very helpful. I was hoping to learn 1 or 2 new things that I could apply to my work and I came away with 6!

Lori Bolliger
I enjoyed Summit Sports San Francisco so much. I’m grateful for the chance to meet so many other sport photographers and make a little community. The instructors were amazing, and I am excited to take what I learned with me!

Maggie Christensen
I am very pleased with the program and the high level of instructors we had present. They were extremely knowledgeable and approachable which was so comforting for a newer person in the photography world.

Trisha Fennern
I truly enjoyed having the opportunity to photograph different sports while having professional photographers at my side providing live feedback and coaching. I feel like I was also blessed with such a great group of fellow photographers. As an introvert, I was nervous about networking but it was very much a huge contribution to the success of the workshop for me.

Ann Remotigue
Summit Workshops' Sports San Francisco workshop was outstanding. The faculty has both depth and breadth of subject matter expertise and is very capable of sharing their knowledge with students. This was the right balance of classroom learning and getting out into the field to use what we learned.

Our image critiques are constantly mentioned as being the most important/valuable component of our workshops. It's not only a chance to get your work reviewed, but also to see your peers' images. You get to hear the opinions of the faculty and everything you will hear from them is 100% meant to help you. They are also anonymous and meant to be constructive and useful to your professional growth.

We ask each student to submit 3-5 images taken while at the workshop. We typically send the link out the afternoon before the image critique, which gives you the evening to get your images in.

A car isn’t required, but it’s highly recommended. We’ll be driving back and forth from our hotel to the games or shooting events.  If you don’t have a car, no worries, we coordinate carpools and will make sure you have a ride for all workshop activities.
