Filmmaker Matel came up with a great idea for a creative time-lapse video. By placing time-lapse footage of the same scene in London at daytime and nighttime next to each other, he is able to show the subtle differences between the working hours of daytime and the party hours of the night.
Matel had to be very precise when shooting to get the two halves of footage to line up correctly. He shot was a Sony A7Rii and used Lightroom, Premiere and After Effects for editing.
“It was a challenge to shoot in London with a tripod,” Matel said, “but [I] managed most of the time.”
Matel also has other fun split-screen footage of Paris & NY.
