Jim is an award-winning visual photo editor for over 20 years at ESPN, Jim Surber has directed and produced photography for both print and digital that runs the gamut – photojournalism, portraiture, style, location, sports action, still life, sequence and video. He’s a leader who has managed busy, deadline-driven teams of talented photo editors that handled large projects, event coverage, and longform features, as well as, a news desk that provided coverage seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Undeterred by any subject matter, Jim has been body slammed by heavyweight Kimbo Slice, tasked with draping a huge snake over QB Alex Smith’s shoulders, and convinced burly pro hockey players to pose naked wearing fake beards outside on a windy day. He is based in Connecticut, by way of Indiana and New York.
