Tuesday Video Tips: Optical Image Stabilization 101

By August 14, 2017Education, Video

Image stabilization has been around for quite a while, but it’s only the newer “optical image stabilization,” or, OIS, that adjusts for shakiness caused by camera movement. OIS¬†reacts to stimulus in real time and makes sure that the path between the lens and the sensor is perfectly aligned before the subject is captured – allowing for better focus.

The great people over at Techquickie were kind enough to make a video to explain the gyroscopic technology that goes into allowing optical image stabilization to work.
