You don’t have to travel to the most remote wildernesses to find engaging stories about exciting animals – they’re often on our, or others, doorsteps.

A message from Doug:

There are tremendous advantages for the budding conservation and wildlife photographer working on projects close to home and one of the most significant is that it gives you the ability to deeply engage in your story over a long period of time.  And now with Covid-19 travel challenges, working close to home makes more sense than ever.  This workshop is for anyone with a passion for conservation and wildlife photo story telling and a basic understanding of your camera. Working together we will build basic story telling skills and brainstorm your story ideas and gain a better understanding on how to think and create wildlife and conservation stories closer to home.

In this five-week hands-on interactive course, participants will have:

–       developed an understanding of what to consider when taking impactful wildlife / conservation images

–       developed an understanding of what to consider when creating a photo-documentary essay

–       created a series of 4-5 story-telling images about a wildlife / conservation story close to home

This workshop is limited to 8 students and will feature a full hour of one-on-one time with you and Doug!
