Suzy Allman attended the Sports Photography Workshop where she met one of our faculty members — Brad Smith, sports picture editor at the New York Times. Brad begin using her regularly some three years ago.
On Saturday, July 9, she covered the Yankees–Rays game where Derek Jeter batted his 3,000th hit. Suzy’s pictures were on page one, and the cover of the sports section including one half-page picture. One of three photographers covering the event for the Times, Suzy hit her own home run.
Brad Smith is on the faculty every year as a really fine teacher — but also looking for new talent. Suzy is just one of many photographers he has discovered at the workshop.
